A-Z of Racecourses

Overlooking the historic and beautiful Roman City of Bath, the Bath Racecouse - home to the Bath Races, is situated in an ideal position on Lansdown Hill, which makes it the highest racecourse in Britain at 780ft (238 meters) above sea level. Although in such a lofty position, the course is known for its relaxed, friendly and intimate manner. The Bath Races begin their season in April, and hoses over 20 flat race meetings a year, many of these held as weekend, weekday and evening fixtures - meaning even those with a restricted timetable can enjoy the Bath Races. The racecourse and its grounds are currently owned by the Northern Racing Group, which owns and operates nine major racecourses in the UK, and are responsible to improving the quality of racing at many of those venues with extensive investment and modernisation - with Bath being no exception. As well as hosting popular race days, the Bath Racecourse also can offer a host of hospitality packages to suit weddings, conferences, private parties or exhibitions, and promises to be "a unique venue for any occasion".
