Brighton Races Full List of Free Bets A-Z of Racecourses The Brighton Races are held on the outskirts of the vibrant and modern city of Brighton, with the seaside not far away. From the stands a race goers can not only see the sea, but all across the Sussex Downs and the Brighton Marina. Brighton Racecourse is a versatile leisure venue offering horse racing, a variety of public events (such as The Fast and Furious Car Show) and a wide range of venue hire opportunities. The venue can be hired on any non-race day throughout the year, for anything from wedding receptions to exhibitions and product launches, and boasts a team of event organisers to help. Brighton Racecourse and the Brighton Races are owned and run by The Northern Racing Group, which also owns and operates nine other successful racecourses across the UK. The popularity of the Brighton Races has increased significantly in recent years, and as a result they are offering 19 fixtures a year during their season from April to October, including the well-regarded August Festival which runs over three days. Highlights of the August Festival include Ladies Day where women visitors are encouraged to dress up, and the John Smith's Brighton Mile. The dates of the Brighton Races will vary to suit everyone - with three Sunday meetings included in the next season. Brighton Races Information The course at the Brighton Races is flat, and turns left handed. It is one and a half miles long in a strong, sharp U-shape, with the track undulating in a true test of stamina. It suits a handy type of horse. There are two enclosures available at the course - the Grandstand & Paddock and the Premier Enclosure. The dress code for visitors to the Premier Enclosure is smart-casual, shirts must be worn at all times and ripped denim and sports clothing are strictly prohibited. They also suggest the same theme for the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure, although it is not enforced. All children accompanied by an adult under the age of 16 are admitted free to the Brighton Races. All dogs, except guide dogs, are only permitted in the main car park area of the grounds, and must be kept on leads at all times. Cash machines are available on the ground floor of the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure Hall, next to the Ladbrokes betting outlets. These cash machines do charge a transaction fee, so it is recommended visitors use cash machines in the centre of Brighton before arriving. Getting There By road, the racecourse can be found easily from the A27 Brighton bypass. Those approaching from the A23 are advised to go east on the A27 before taking the B2123 to Woodingdean and turning right at the traffic lights. Upon arrival, all car parking at the Brighton Races is free. Brighton Station is only a short hour away from London if arriving by train, and there are regular services from Victoria, Kings Cross and London Bridge. There is also a courtesy bus service to and from the course from the station on race days, which can be found parked 200 yards south of the station at the top of Queens Road. Helicopter landing at the course is available on request, although it is advised you book permission well in advance of the race day. |
