Chepstow Races Full List of Free Bets A-Z of Racecourses The Chepstow Races are situated in the picturesque Wye Valley, well-known as an area of outstanding natural beauty, which provides an excellent backdrop to the races. In addition to this, there are often themed Chepstow Races meetings, with a chance to dress up and enjoy a different party atmosphere, which are increasingly popular. The Chepstow course is currently owned by the Northern Racing Group, a company known for improving British race courses. There is no racing season as such at Chepstow - races are held all year round, which span both the Jumps and the Flat Seasons. Chepstow Races Information On a race day, the Chepstow Racecourse boasts two enclosures - the Premier Enclosure and the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure. A Premier Badge can be purchased at the course, which gives members access to all the public areas of the Chepstow Races course, which includes the Premier Lawn - adjacent to the Winners' Enclosure, the Parade Ring and directly opposite the Winning Post. The new Premier Stand includes a bar which serves hot and cold drinks and snacks, as well as a band new Premier Restaurant, seating 300. Children are welcome at the Chepstow Races, with all children ages 16 or under admitted for free, when accompanies by a paying adult. On some race days there may also be free children's entertainment provided, suitable for a variety of age groups. The dress code at Chepstow is a fairly strict, with racegoers wearing vests, rugby or football shirts, shorts, ripped jeans or trainers not permitted into the Premier Enclosure. Shirts may not be removed in any of the enclosures at Chepstow, and jeans or trainers are not allowed in the Premier Restaurant or any of the hospitality boxes. A cash machine is provided in the Premier Enclosure entrance, but carries a transaction fee. The most famous race in the Chepstow Races calendar is the Coral Welsh National, which is held on Saturday the 27th of December 2008. Getting There The Chepstow races has some excellent links to both road, rail and even air - with even helicopter landings accepted on the racecourse with prior permission. By road, the racecourse can be found on the A466 Chepstow to Monmouth road, which is located not far from the Severn Bridge. If travelling from the M4 East (Junction 21) or the M4 West (Junction 23), it is advised to take the M48 and leave of the exit at Junction 2 marked Chepstow. All car parking at the race course is free of charge. The nearest railway station to Chepstow Racecourse is the Chepstow station, which is approximately 1½ miles from the Racecourse. If travelling by bus, a special race day bus service is provided from Chepstow bus station, which operates on Saturday evening and Bank Holiday meetings. This bus also stops at Chepstow railway station.
