I m a celebrity get me out of here - betting guide

Must see TV is back! You can bet you will be entertained, as the ever popular ITV series, "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here" returns for 2008, with its most explosive line-up to date.

In case you have fallen off the planet for the last eight years and don't know what this show is about, here's a quick introduction: Ten 'celebrities' rough-it on an Australian 'camp site', they compete in 'bushtucker trials' for food, all whilst raising money, by public vote, for their chosen charity. They are presided over by Ant and Dec, who skilfully host the show in their unique cheeky chappy style.

For those of you who ARE familiar with "I'm a celebrity... get me out of here" here is a quick recap: Ten (or possibly more, depending on what will boost the ratings) 'celebrities' (people vaguely famous, who have had their 15 minutes and want it back) go onto a 'set', a campsite, near a posh hotel, somewhere, possible the Australian jungle, maybe. They compete for food and votes, by any means possible, i.e. they eat sheep testicles and bugs, try to mate with anything that moves, and wear as little clothing as possible. All while bullying each other, crying crocodile tears and plunging their hands into buckets of spiders. The shows hosts, Ant and Dec, cheesily try to coerce the public into voting, using a very legitimate and fair voting system, that in no way relates to the Ant and Dec phone vote scandal.

Previous winners were: Tony Blackburn in 2002, Phil Tufnell in 2003, Kerry Katona in 2004, Joe Pasquale also in 2004, Carol Thatcher in 2005, Matt Willis in 2006, and Christopher Biggins in 2007. So, who are the 2008 contestants of "I'm a celebrity... get me out of here" and what are their odds of being crowned King or Queen of the Jungle?

Dani Behr

The original WAG previously dated Ryan Giggs and Les Ferdinand. Famous for co-hosting channel 4 cult classics, such as 'The Word' and 'The Big Breakfast'. Recently pictured in various bikinis in the tabloids, in preparation for more semi-naked bikini wearing in the 'Jungle'. This 37 year old mother of two, may rake in male votes trying to recapture that 90's nostalgia. 14/1 winner at Coral.

Rober Kilroy-Silk

More nineties nostalgia from the original Jerry Springer. The perma-tanned, silver haired Independent MEP was never one to shy away from controversy and is sure to keep everyone on their toes! 3/1 for first evictee at bet365.com.

Nicola McLean

Who? Exactly! A current day WAG, who freely admits you probably won't know her face, but you might know her... boyfriend! She is engaged to Peterborough United defender Tom Williams. If not, then you have probably seen her in... a bikini! Semi-naked and trying to be Jordan. 9/1 outright winner at Bluesq.com

Martina Navratilova

An unexpected celebrity to appear. Winner of 18 Grand Slam singles titles, and probably the greatest female tennis player of all time. You can bet she will serve up a storm! 7/1 outright winner at bluesq.com.

Brian Paddick

Known for being the highest ranking openly gay police officer, Brian will be flying the pink flag. More likely to be voted 'Mayor' of the Jungle than King of it. 50/1 at coral

Esther Rantzen

Legendary TV Presenter, who at 68 is billed as this years Christine Hamilton. Esther claims to be scared of heights snakes and spiders, but hey, 'Thats Life' in the Jungle!

Joe Swash

'Swashbuckler Mickey' is an ex-Eastender gooner, whose cheeky charm could rival Ant and Dec. Currently being billed as a hot favourite, 13/8 at coral for King.

George Takei

Too boldly go where no respectable actor has gone before... My Sulu will surely utter those words "It's life Jim, But not as we know it" When he meets his fellow contestants! He has been a helmsman but can he be a King? 40/1 for first evictee at bet365.com.

Simon Webbe

Following in the footsteps of ex-fellow band mate Anthony Costa, will Simon feel 'Blue' in the Jungle? 8/1 at bet365.com for first evictee.

Carly Zucker

'Sporty Wag', girlfriend of Joe Cole. More likely to be seen in a two piece than a queens robe!

David Van Day and Timmy Mallet could go from late comers to front runners!

This years' celebrities in "I'm a celebrity... get me out of here" could prove to a winning combination for you! All odds are correct at time of writing, and as the series heats up, you can bet there will be some great opportunities for you to cash in!
