The Racecourse

Throughout the year numerous races take place at Southwell Races which make it one of the best spectator sporting locations in the East Midlands. This draws huge crowds and some of the country's best horses and riders alike. Southwell races is an easy location to reach from all directions with excellent links from Newark and Nottingham, both within easy reach of the course.

Racedays

Southwell races plays host to many different events throughout the year with well over 60 individual racedays. In 2007 alone, 67 standard meetings were staged at Southwell not to mention the numerous special festival fixture racedays on the calendar. This all adds up to produce one of the best racing experiences to be found throughout the country.

The Costs

Southwell Races offer a number of different racing fixtures throughout the year with different entrance packages to suit your needs. Access to the standard Grandstand costs a perfectly reasonable price of £10 per person rising to £12 for entry to Festival Fixture dates. If you wish to upgrade your ticket and gain entry then this will cost £15 and £20 on standard and festival race days respectively. If you are planning a group event then you may qualify for the 'Lucky 7' ticket costing £15. This includes access to the grandstand, your racecard, drinks vouchers and many more perks. You must be travelling in a group greater than 10 and must be pre-booked. Children are welcome at Southwell races and are admitted free of charge under the age of 16.

Local Accommodation

Aside from the fantastic racing facilities on offer at Southwell races, there are also a number of other unique features that set Southwell races apart from the crowd. If you are planning on making a weekend of it at the races, or would simply like to enjoy your day without having to worry about the long trip home, then you may want to take advantage of the onsite motel. Room rates are very competitive, at around £40 per night for en-suite rooms

Facilities

The Southwell race estate features some of the best horse racing facilities around. The estate itself is set within 145 acres of Nottinghamshire parkland and is certainly a stunning setting. It's also not only horse racing fans that make the trip to Southwell races. If you are interested in golf you will also find a championship 18 hole golf course with the spectacular first 9 holes situated in the centre of the course.

Hospitality

If you are thinking of entertaining a number of private or business guests in the area then Southwell races is an excellent location to choose. Private, modern hospitality boxes are available and set within the Premier Enclosure. This provides an impressive location for any business event. The hospitality boxes are great for small to medium business parties but if you are looking to accommodate larger parties of up to 300 people then a marquee close to the parade ring can be used.
