The Racecourse

Taunton Racecourse is renowned for being one of the most beautifully located racecourses in the country nestled in amongst the heavily wooded Blackdown Hills in Somerset. It is also the youngest National Hunt racecourse in Britain providing some of the best facilities anywhere in the country.

Location

The Taunton racecourse is easy to find on the B3170 road from Corfe to Honiton approximately 2 miles south of Taunton town centre. It is easily accessible from both the north and south via the M5 motorway at junction 25.

The Costs

Tickets for Taunton races are extremely competitive at £12 for a standard ticket providing entry to the Tattersalls stand. For an extra £4 the racing fan can also gain access to the Portman Grandstand offering the perfect place to follow the days races. Juniors are also welcome at Taunton races with admission costing only £8 with under 16's getting in for free. Group parties are also welcome and can be eligible for a group discount. You don't even have to worry about parking charges with all onsite parking being provided free of charge. For those interested in annual membership, a yearly ticket can be purchased for £140, or £120 for renewals before the 10th December. The annual membership gives you access to the Paddock Stand allowing you to get up close and personal with your favourite runners and riders.

Racedays

Racing takes place at Taunton races over 6 months between November and April and is home to many great races throughout the season. There are usually around 6 or 7 races at a single meeting allowing you to really make a day of it.

Hospitality Suites and Conference Days

If you are looking for an exciting location to host your next corporate event then a day at the races should definitely be considered. Taunton races provide plenty of different packages depending on the size of your party. The corporate suites are well equipped with TV monitors throughout the suites bringing you closer to the action. There are even Tote kiosks on each floor for those eager in placing their bets. Costs are also very reasonable! A three course lunch for 12 guests with champagne on arrival would cost in the region of £770 plus VAT. Taunton races is also an excellent location to host a conference or seminar. The location, right in the heart of the Somerset countryside, is extremely relaxing and perfect for such events. There are numerous conference rooms available, catering from 12 to 350 delegates in various layouts. There is plenty of car parking provided free of charge with space for up to 1500 cars using adjacent car parks. Delegate rates start from around £23 + VAT which include refreshments and a buffet lunch. Fully licensed bars are also located in many of the stands should your delegates wish to unwind as the event moves into the evening.
