The racecourse is located just off the A429 on entering Warwick. There is ample free parking in the centre of the course. By Train: Warwick races is served by two rail stations. Warwick station, in the town centre, is only a 15 minute walk from Warwick races. Warwick Parkway is situated on the opposite side of the town from Warwick races, but taxis are available at the station. By Bus: Stagecoach run various services near to the racecourse. Full details can be found at www.stagecoachbus.com/warwickshire. By Air: Warwick races is within 20 miles of both Coventry and Birmingham airports. COURSE DETAILS Situated near Warwick Castle, Warwick races is a course with a rich heritage, being one of the oldest racecourses in the country. Racing has taken place since the mid 18th century. The Flat course is a left-handed oval, 1m 6f in circumference. Unusually, there is no straight course, with 5f races started on a spur which bends left, joining the main course 2f from the post. The National Hunt course is left-handed and sharp in nature. FIXTURES Warwick races 12 months of the year with 23 fixtures under both Flat and National Hunt (jumps) codes. Fourteen of Warwick races fixtures are arranged for evenings, weekends and bank holidays, excellent for those unable to attend afternoon meetings due to work commitments. There are also a number of exciting annual "themed" meetings at Warwick races, which attract large crowds and prove to be extremely popular for group outings. Principal Fixtures The principal Flat fixture is the Midsummer meeting in June, featuring the Eternal Stakes, with Listed status and prize money in excess of £30k. The most valuable race run at Warwick is the Tote Classic 'Chase run over 3m 5f on the second Saturday of January, with £75k added prize money. The Kingmaker Novices' 'Chase meeting, in February, features several Cheltenham / Aintree Festival trials races, often providing useful clues to the future. PACKAGES AND OFFERS Various special packages are available at Warwick races, starting (in 2008) from £25 per person. Such packages include admission to the Main Enclosure, lunch and drinks (depending on the package chosen), free Tote betting vouchers and a complimentary racecard. ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP Annual membership of Warwick races, running for the calendar year is available at £170 for full membership (all fixtures) or National Hunt only membership (10 fixtures) at £95. Such memberships can offer great savings to regular visitors to Warwick races, as admission to the Main Enclosure is £15 for weekdays and £18 for weekends (in 2008). There is an Annual Members' room in the grandstand with a private viewing area.
